Given below is another Palai – from Kamuthy praising St. Antony and pleading to him prayers to our lord for brimful rivers, copious rains, fertile fields and plenty of paddy yield.

The prayer signifies two important facts 1) Kamuthy, was parched even then, as now 2) the Parava community at Kamuthy had very little to do with fish, dry or fresh. It was an Agrarian community – is it because of this they called themselves Bharathas?

கார் கொண்ட கமலயம் பதத்துடைய
பதுவைக் கதி பரனே!
வந்திக்கத் தக்க காரணத் திருமாது
கன்னிமரி புதல்வரை கரமதனில் ஏந்தி நித்தம்
பூரண திரு மனதிரங்கியே
எந்நாளும் புகழ்பெற்ற ஜோதியானைப்
போற்றியோனே
திருவடி, கர, கமலதான் தன்னையே போற்ற
உன் அருள் புரிவாய்!

ஏர் கொண்ட பூலோக மாயையால்
என் மனம் இச்சிப்பிங்கில்லாமலே
ஏழைகளை இரட்சிக்க வேளை இது
புரிவாய்! ஏகனிடம் மன்றாடியே!

ஆறு பெருகவும்
மாரியது பெய்யவும்
சென்னெல் விளைவாகவும்
அருள்புரிவாய் ஐயனே!
கமுதி நகர் திருவாலயத்தில் எழுந்தருளிய
சந்த அந்தோனி மாமுனியே!
